The importance of startup accelerator for healthtech company

We decided to join Turbiini accelerator. What does acceleration mean for a health technology startup? Learn more about how we ended up accelerating!

Late last year (in 2016) our team member Risto had a meeting in Yritys Vantaa because we needed some help with our project and they are assisting new entrepreneurs in all matters related to establishing a company. In addition to other relevant information, we were advised to join an accelerator. We are so happy that such services are provided on a governmental level in Finland.

During the earliest stages of our project we had already tried to apply for Vertical accelerator but we were not successful because our idea was not formulated well enough back then. It was a shame because Vertical is specialized in health innovations. But as they say - better luck next time!

Now we were advised to contact Turbiini accelerator which is specialized in early stage startups. Turbiini is located in Technopolis Aviapolis, very conveniently for us it is near the airport in Vantaa. We had a really good feeling after our initial meeting with Tiina and Hannes from Turbiini as they were very helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed in contact with them and it didn’t take us too long to sit down again to officially join the accelerator. We are very glad to be here!

They are organizing a 3-month prestartup programme in Spring 2017 and we have also applied to take part in it. Knowledge is power!
